The Story

As a child growing up with holiday cartoons in a dual cultural household, writer/director Dustin Ellis often found himself asking the question "Hey! Why no Iranian cartoons?" After some fruitless searching, Dustin decided to create his own - 'Babak and Friends, an homage to the most festive Iranian holiday of them all - Norooz.

Brought to you by Norooz Productions, Babak and Friends - A First Norooz is a high quality cartoon for all to enjoy. With a talented set of animators from classic companies like Warner Brothers, Nickelodeon, and DreamWorks, Babak and Friends is the first of its kind. This holiday adventure features the voices of the most famous Iranian actors, including Parviz Sayyad, ali Pourtash, and Shohreh Aghdashloo. Set to beautiful classical Persian music, this film evokes the glory of the Persian Empire, and the richness of ancient forms of Persian miniature art. Babak and Friends - A First Norooz is a movie that reminds us of the pride, resilience, and courage that ties this community together in a brand new world.
