Norooz Productions Mission

Norooz Productions was founded in 2004 with the mission of teaching kids culture through entertainment. By producing high quality products, Norooz hopes to introduce kids to different cultures and languages, to create a more diverse and tolerant society.

Our Story

Our first direct-to-DVD animation, entitled Babak & Friends – A First Norooz, is a heart-warming story about a young Iranian boy who comes to appreciate his Persian roots during Norooz, the Persian New Year which celebrates the arrival of spring.

Produced in English and Persian, the award-winning movie sold more than 20,000 copies and was screened in more than forty major film festivals, museums, libraries and Apple stores around the world.

In 2007, Norooz Productions embarked on producing Mixed Nutz. Currently working on 26 X 22 minute episodes for Television, the show follows the adventures of a bunch of kids in school who are struggling to fit in.

Norooz Productions has been featured on ABC, BBC and CNN.

Our Team

The creative team of our latest production Mixed Nutz is comprised of the industry’s best talent from Pixar, Nickelodeon, Warner Brothers, and Disney. Triple Emmy Award winner Alfred Gimeno (Madagascar, Jetsons) joined from DreamWorks as the Co-director. Triple Emmy Award winner Randy Rogel (Animaniacs, Batman) composes music and lyrics. Storyboard artists, character designers, prop artists and voice-talent all come with previous animation experience to deliver something that kids will really enjoy.

In addition, Norooz Productions has created a cultural advisory board by country to ensure accuracy and relevance of cultural content. Not only is this project socially responsible, but it also makes the cartoon a first at the nexus of culture, education and entertainment.
