Synopsis

Our story starts with little Babak, who feels left out at school, when his friends celebrate holidays that he does not. When his cousins Saman and Sousanne come to visit him from Iran, he is also left out because he does not know the games they like to play. Caught between two cultures, our hero needs some help in figuring things out. Through a magical journey in Persepolis and a warm reception from Amoo Norooz and Haji Firooz, Babak learns to be Persian and Proud!

Original music and sound track, includes pop tunes by our favorite stars Andy and Aris and original score by Mehrdad Arabi.

The Cast

Featuring voices of Oscar Nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo as Babak's Aunt Farah. The legendary Parviz Sayyad as the wise and kind Amoo Norooz. Catherine Bell as the sweet mother Farah and the incredibly funny Ali Pourtash as the fun-loving Haji Firooz.

The DVD

Our DVD features 75 minutes of total entertainment time including the original Babak and Friends - A First Norooz Cartoon in Farsi/Persian (30 minutes), and in English. In addition, there are 15 minutes of bonus materials.

Special items include the exclusive music video "Daram Miram Beh Tehran" by Andy, Aris's Norooz Song "Persian and Proud", behind-the-scenes footage, and cast biographies.

The DVD can be played anywhere in the world. One side is in NTSC and one side is in PAL, so that it makes a great gift for family in Iran.

Complimentary Storybook

Our storybook, written by Dustin Ellis and colorfully illustrated by Rodd Miller (see images on the left) tells the film story in picture format with text in both Farsi and in English.
